Welcome to the Claudia Black Young Adult Center
It can be hard to ask for help, and we see young adults come in every day who are resistant, skeptical, or scared. They’re not totally sure they have a problem, and if they do see an issue, they may not be completely committed to addressing it. We also get to see those same individuals transformed as they leave with a sense of hope, new skills, and direction.

The Claudia Black Young Adult Center provides intensive, experientially based inpatient treatment specifically tailored to young adults ages 18 to 26 using our proven Meadows Model. Those who come through our doors may be struggling with unresolved emotional trauma, drug or alcohol addiction, mental health conditions, or a dual diagnosis. Our team of treatment professionals is equipped to help them address those issues with healing that happens among their peers. But we’re not just treating conditions, we’re treating people, and we’re also here to help them discover who they’re meant to be.

Our Namesake
The clinical architect of our program, Dr. Claudia Black is internationally recognized for her pioneering work with family systems and addictive disorders. Her passion to help young adults overcome obstacles is at the core of the Claudia Black Young Adult Center.

What Treatment Looks Like at CBC
At the Claudia Black Young Adult Center, we recognize that every individual has their own unique background, interests, strengths, and challenges. That’s why we firmly believe that successful treatment isn’t one size fits all. It combines a diverse range of powerful methodologies that work together to foster support, discovery, and healing. Group and one-on-one therapy, techniques like Somatic Experiencing®, EMDR, and neurofeedback as well as holistic options like equine therapy, expressive arts, yoga, and tai chi all combine to create a well-rounded program that addresses the whole person.

Our scenic campus is spread across 14 acres, just 50 miles northwest of Phoenix, but a world away. The Claudia Black Young Adult Center is a professional facility with a decidedly un-clinical feel.
